NOTES: Frio, is a 16 -18 year old (we do not have his papers so can't be sure) chestnut gelding that stands at 16.2 hands. He started his life on the Wagon Wheel Ranch in Lampasas county. Founded in 1872, The Wagon Wheel Ranch is the largest of the four Gist family properties and is best known for its Foundation Quarter Horse Program. About six miles northeast of Lometa, these 1,914 acres are steeped in heritage. After this he was sold and not much known about his history until he was purchased by a family as a four year old where they occasionally rode. We moved him to our barn to use for lessons. He lost some weight due to being run off of his grain. We adjusted his feed program and he is gaining it back now! This dude is nothing super fancy, but he is honest and kind. There’s is no buck, rear, kick, bite in this horses nature. I also haven’t seen him take a lame step. Since he had a lot of years turned out, he still has a lot of years left. Take him, use him. Since the Wagon Wheel has abolished their program, this is your chance to own a prime piece of Texas History.
