2014 Chestnut G Hannah Murphy, Agent for Roper Wilkinson Tommy is a 12 year old (vet aged) grade gelding, standing 16 hands high. He could use a tune up but had a solid W/T/L and basic maneuvers when he was ridden regularly last year. I think he’d go back to this with a little exercise and routine. When not working he can be fickle, particularly about the lope so he will need a firm, fair rider. He is easy to catch, stands tied, knows a little groundwork, is always ready for a carrot and trailers. He is generally very good with his feet/farrier but has kicked when he has had a wound on the back end. Because of this and his tendency to be disagreeable when not in regular work, I would not call him a kid-suitable horse unless it’s a handy kid; but if you need a big stout gelding to go work on, he’s your guy! He’s just not thriving in a semi-retired lifestyle and this leads to his sale. Video is of his second ride this year. Maintenance wise, he does wear shoes on the front and he has had an episode of ulcers (2025) but seems to have recovered well and maintains with appropriate feeding. Click For Video
