Editing A Catalog Page

Important: If copying & pasting notes into your Catalog Page, you MUST paste as plain text

Set your Zoom at 100% and keep it at 100% throughout the editing of your catalog.

·        Start Editing Catalog Pages

o   The My Sales page displays:

§  Sale horse list

§  Current status of the catalog page (In Que, Processing, Complete)

·         Once the status is Complete, you can begin editing

o   To edit the catalog page:

§  Click the number in the first column of the horse you want to edit

§  Click the Edit Catalog Page button at the top of the Horse’s Worksheet screen

§  This is the Edit Catalog Page screen

§  Hand-edit the page, OR

§  Use the Make-It-Fit button, which edits the page for you

o   To create a page on demand, use the Build Catalog Page button on the Edit Catalog Page screen

·         Hand Editing Individual Paragraphs (Basic, Ranch, & Paragraph Pedigrees)

o   Click inside any paragraph to edit that paragraph

§  Once you are done editing, click “Save Changes”

o   To undo an edit (if you have not saved your changes):

§  Click the refresh button at the top left-hand corner of your browser

§  This will return your page to the last saved version

o   To start over:

§  Click the Build Catalog Page button

o   Using QData Sire & Dam Records to Hand-Edit Catalog Pages

§  On the Edit Catalog Page there are several black boxes on the lower right side

§  Click the circle with a plus sign in it

§  Click Open next to the record to view it

§  NOTE: Basic Pedigree pages do not include free QData records

o   IMPORTANT NOTES

§  The blue line is the bottom of the printable area. ALL text MUST be above that line.

§  To protect both buyers and sellers, the AQHA/QData performance record cannot be changed on the sale horse. If you think a performance record contains an error, please contact QData immediately.

·         Hand Editing Individual Paragraphs (Black Type Pedigrees Only)

o   Right-click anywhere on the pedigree page to display editing options

§  Add Non-Dams: Adds any of the following:

·         Notes

·         Performance

·         Sire Record

·         Produce Record

·         Sire Paragraph

·         Dam’s Sire

·         Logo (option to Add/Remove)

§  1st/2nd/3rd/4th Dam:

·         Add Dam Header (Ex: 1st dam)

·         Add Information

·         Clone Dam – use this option after editing & saving the Dam Paragraph to have this exact paragraph used every time this dam appears in the sale

·         Delete Dam

§  Add horse: Enter the horse’s information and choose the correct tag

·         NOTE: The horse will be added below the horse you right-clicked on

§  Select Tag: Use to change the tag of the selected horse

§  Delete Lines: Deletes the vertical lines directly next to the selected horse

§  Delete This Foal: Deletes the selected horse

§  Delete Blank Line: Deletes the selected blank line

§  Delete All After: Deletes everything within that dam paragraph, after the selected horse

o   Tags: (indent)

§  i1 – Dam’s Foals

§  i2 – Dam’s Grandfoals

§  i3 – Dam’s Great-Grandfoals

§  t2 – Header (Ex: Notes, Produce, etc.)

§  pf – Produce

·        Make-It-Fit Option

o   This button edits the information to fit on your page

o   Click Make It Fit and Save Changes

§  To revert back to full length:

·         Before saving changes: Click Undo Make It Fit

·         After saving changes: Click Refresh Catalog Page

o   Note: All changes will be lost

o   If needed, Make It Fit can be clicked more than once

o   Full VS. Soft options (Black Type Only)

§  Full: Edits the information down to 1 page

§  Soft: Edits the information down to 2 pages for further hand-editing

·        Options Tab

o   Build Catalog Page – creates your page on demand

o   Refresh Catalog Page – looks for new information to update the paragraphs; re-creates the full-length page

§  Note: All changes will be lost

o   Adjust Lines (Black Type Only) – adds missing vertical lines between foal paragraphs

o   Make It Fit – edits the information to fit on your page

o   Undo Make It Fit – restores your page to full length after using Make It Fit (but only if you have not clicked Save Changes yet)

o   View/PrintSave Changes first, then use this button to view the catalog page.

§  Press Ctrl + P on your keyboard to print this single page.

o   Replace Sale Horse with Above – replaces the sale horse’s performance under the sire and dam to say “Above” instead.

§  Saves space for other performers to be listed.

§  Does not affect the sale horse's actual PERFORMANCE RECORD section.

o   Replace Sire/Dam Paragraphs – replaces all of the corresponding sire/dam paragraphs present on other horses in the sale with the paragraphs displayed on the current catalog page.

§  Example: After editing PYC Paint Your Wagon’s sire paragraph, click Replace all of PYC Paint Your Wagon’s sale paragraphs with this one to make all of his paragraphs throughout the sale match this one.

o   Remove Sire/Dam Paragraph on Save – completely removes a sire and/or dam paragraph, including the corresponding header

§  This is helpful if the horse’s performance and notes are long enough to fill the entire catalog page and the sire and/or dam paragraphs are not needed.

o   Remove Entry’s Produce/Sire Record – removes the sale horse’s produce record

·        QData Sire & Dam Records

o   Each horse in the catalog builder* comes with a FREE Sire Report & Dam Report!

o   See instructions in the Hand Editing Individual Paragraphs section above for more information

o   *NOTE: Basic Pedigree pages do not include free QData records

·        Adjust Header Tools

o   On the Edit Catalog Page there are several black boxes on the lower right side

§  Click the circle with a plus sign in it

·         Use the Plus/Minus buttons to adjust character or word spacing

o   Save Changes

·        Adjust Family Tree Tools

o   On the Edit Catalog Page there are several black boxes on the lower right side

§  Click the circle with a plus sign in it

·         Use the Plus/Minus buttons to adjust letter or word spacing

o   The controls are directly to the right of that name

o   Save Changes

o   Adjust the names to correct any overlapping lines

o   Any changes made will only affect the current pedigree

o   IMPORTANT NOTE: The family tree must be completed on non-AQHA sale horses on the Horse’s Worksheet screen

·        Adjust Notes, Sire & Dam Paragraphs Tools

o   On the Edit Catalog Page there are several black boxes on the lower right side

§  Click the circle with a plus sign in it

·         Use the Plus/Minus buttons to adjust letter or word spacing

o   Save Changes

o   Word spacing can also be adjusted in the pop-up text editor

 

   ·      Changing an Unnamed or Pending to a Registered Horse

o   On the Horse Info Screen delete the text in the Horse Name field.

§   Add the new Registration number in the Reg Number field.

·         Add the new Horse Name to the Horse Name field.

o   Save Changes

          Important Note: Only Unnamed & Pendings can be named. Any other text/name in the Horse Name field cannot be changed to a different name.

 

Note: All edits will be lost if you fail to save your changes!
